Natural Aesthetics

Natural Aesthetics is the interior design of a villa show house located in Shanwei, China. The 396 square meter space draws on the natural themes of mountain, water, stone and wood. Burlington green marble is the main material, combined with dark wood, stone, stainless steel, glass and embroidered wallpaper. Light and shadow move across the quiet surfaces, while the layout opens views toward the nearby mountains and water. The minimal and poetic setting is intended as a calm place for rest. The interior was completed within a short construction period.

Zafiri Cava Deli

Zafiri Cava Deli is a retail shop interior with a total area of 217 square metres. The design recalls an old mansion in the centre of the island. Imposing arches decorate the storefront and frame the window. Inside, metal and wood are combined with aged earth tones, and leather furniture adds a traditional character. Metal staircases recall an old library, while three balconies offer a view of the store from above. The cellar is treated as a classic traditional cellar. Chandeliers reinforce the island style.

Smritivan

Smritivan is an earthquake museum and memorial located on the Bhujio Dungar hill in Bhuj, Gujarat, India. The museum covers 9200 square meters of indoor and outdoor space, arranged in seven thematic blocks and 27 galleries. The exhibits recall the 2001 earthquake through personal stories, archival material and scientific content. Local craftspeople co-created the artworks, and woven textiles are combined with durable steel. A large earthquake simulator and digital tributes to the victims are also included. The central theme of the design is human resilience.

Patina Maldives

Patina Maldives is a hotel resort located on an island in the Maldives. The design covers a built area of 34,500 square meters and includes every element, from the masterplan to the light pendants. Wooden structures allow a cleaner and faster construction. Natural materials such as stone, sticks and fibers are used throughout. The buildings are low and visually permeable, so the architectural lines do not break the horizon. Spaces are arranged from private to public, and open air areas connect interior and exterior. The architecture stays quiet so that nature remains the main focus.

La Pina Distillery

La Pina Distillery is a retail and tasting facility located in Nago, Okinawa. The interior is themed around exploration and the search for the water of life. At the center stands the Brandy Pineapple Fountain, an object measuring 4400 millimeters in width, depth and height, shaped like a distiller from which pineapple brandy appears to rise from underground. Piping-style displays, lighting and an aged copper finish recall a large old factory. Wall fixtures in iron sheeting combine with wood grain to form a calm space that adult visitors can also enjoy.
