Revived Memory
Revived Memory is a restaurant interior in Qinhuangdao, China, covering 1000 square meters. The space combines dining with music and performance. Seating is arranged in separate areas instead of many shared tables, giving each group a quiet and private setting. Large yellow mud walls recall the Loess Plateau, and open blank surfaces reflect traditional eastern simplicity. The banquet hall ceiling uses a wooden sunken panel structure with rounded arcs to increase the sense of scale. The design presents northwest Chinese culture in a modern and simple form.
Revived Memory Restaurant by Gordon Wang was identified as an outstanding representation of architectural design by the A' Design Award. Revived Memory Restaurant received the Iron A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2020. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design accolade that celebrates outstanding design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
