Essence of Humanity
Essence of Humanity is an office interior created for a design studio in a former storefront. Most of the original layout is kept, including a retro mottled wall. Black, gray and brown tones are combined with terrazzo-like tile flooring, soft wooden textures and clean-cut steel hardware. A display wall presents the studio works next to a gradient mural. Large windows and fluted glass separate the work area, the meeting area and the terrace, where dark shingles, stone and plants form a quiet garden.
Essence of Humanity Office Space by Tsung Yen Feng, Jou An Chen was identified as a grand example of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Essence of Humanity Office Space won the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2020. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design prize which recognizes outstanding design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
