Boundary
Boundary is a residential interior design created by merging two superimposed villas into one complete home. Removing the original movable wall allowed functional areas to be combined and a new spatial order to be formed. A load-bearing column is covered with ceramic tiles and white latex paint, keeping the lines clean and simple. White and blue recall clouds and the sea. A thin black frame sliding door with clear glass lets the kitchen switch between open and closed. A spiral staircase leads to the private bedrooms on the upper floor.
Boundary Residential House by Guangzheng Li has been featured as a grand illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. Boundary Residential House received the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2020. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design recognition program which rewards excellent design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
