Beauty of Yinyang
Beauty of Yinyang is a residential interior design of 300 square meters in Taichung, Taiwan. The design applies the balanced symmetry of Yinyang, a principle of traditional Chinese thought, to a modern home. Symmetrical layouts and linear elements create a sense of order and calm. A circle shapes the dining area, referring to family gatherings around a shared meal. The materials include genuine timber, marble, gold foil and vintage glass window craft. A large water ink painting on paper is mounted on one wall.
Beauty of Yinyang Residence by Sung Chih Hsiu has been recognized as a creative example of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Beauty of Yinyang Residence won the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2020. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design competition that rewards superior design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
