Light and Form
Light and Form is the interior design of a six-story standalone house in Taichung City, Taiwan. The first floor is a communal area for gathering and hosting guests. The second to fourth floors hold private bedrooms. The fifth floor contains an audiovisual room with a bar, and the sixth floor holds a home office. Wood and stone textures form the material base, while soft colors create a calm setting. A floating staircase with LED strip lights reduces the visual weight of the structure. The layout separates social and quiet areas to improve privacy and comfort.
Light and Form Residential House by Cheng He Interior Design Studio was featured as a creative illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Light and Form Residential House received the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2026. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design accolade which recognizes superior design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
