Impulse
Impulse is a Pilates studio interior designed for women in Taiwan. The space covers 165.2 square meters and includes a counter, a consultation area, a locker area, an exercise area and a lounge. The design follows a wabi-sabi style, with curved forms, wood and a soft color palette. Curved ceiling drapery, irregular mirrors and chandeliers repeat the same flowing lines. Walls are finished with cement paint and earthy coatings, and details use stone veneer, vinyl flooring, grilles and fabric. Natural light enters from three sides, and a grille screen shapes a bright lounge.
Impulse Pilates Space by Yi-Ning Lo was highlighted as a creative representation of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Impulse Pilates Space was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2025. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design competition which recognizes outstanding design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
