My Dream Home
My Dream Home is the renovation of an 80 square metre garden apartment in Hangzhou for a family of five. The original home was cramped, with poor lighting and ventilation, an inefficient layout and limited privacy. Internal walls were removed to form an open kitchen and dining area, a study, two bathrooms and three bedrooms. Electric sliding and floor-to-ceiling glass windows increase daylight and connect the interior with the garden. Sliding walls and multifunctional furniture adapt the space, while step-free access, non-slip floors and handrails support older residents.
My Dream Home Public Welfare Renovation by Kris Lin was recognized as an innovative illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Award. My Dream Home Public Welfare Renovation received the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2024. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design prize which recognizes outstanding design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
