Book Ing
Book Ing is a bar interior completed in Taiwan. Entry is made through a hidden door set into a fully enclosed wall clad in cultural stone, which opens only when the correct object is pressed. Inside, a ten meter long black marble counter and a wooden alcohol wall cross the open plan space. Two concealed doors serve the storage of guest alcohol collections and meal preparation. A mirrored ceiling above the alcohol cabinet reduces the visual effect of the low beams. Sofas are staggered to form private booth like seating.
Book Ing Bar by Yang-Po Chen was identified as an innovative example of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. Book Ing Bar earned the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2023. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design prize that recognizes outstanding design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
