Concord
Concord is a home economics room designed for a secondary school in Hong Kong. The 1500 square foot space is organised around an oval, a shape chosen to express inclusion and togetherness. The learning area sits at the centre of the oval, while the laundry, baking, preparation and cafe areas are placed around it. Floor tiles in light grey, dark grey and wood grain mark each zone and echo the curved lake blue ceiling. White, wood and lake blue tones create a calm setting for shared learning and cooperation.
Concord School Home Economics Room by Vincent Li was selected as an exceptional example of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Concord School Home Economics Room earned the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2023. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is a highly prestigious, international, juried design prize which rewards outstanding design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
