The Experiment
The Experiment is a residential interior design for a 20-ping home in New Taipei City, Taiwan. Walls are avoided in the public area, where hidden divisions and hallways surround an open kitchen. An induction stove is placed on the kitchen island, so users face the window view and the living room while cooking. Three elevating glass panels are hidden in the ventilator to contain cooking smells. Cabinets divide the living room and the bedrooms. Grey and white materials, wooden flooring and LED lights are used.
The Experiment Residential by Yi-Ling Syu has been identified as a creative illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. The Experiment Residential was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2022. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design recognition program which recognizes excellent design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
