The House of Hygge
The House of Hygge is a residential interior design for an apartment in Singapore, completed in December 2020. The project follows the idea of hygge, a way of living based on comfort, simplicity and quiet enjoyment. An open layout connects all the spaces from the entrance. The kitchen joins wet and dry functions and allows cooking with a group of friends. The living area opens like a garden amenity, and the sleeping area is shaped for visual contrast. Loose furniture is selected to support flexible use, while white and warm tones give a friendly atmosphere.
The House of Hygge Residential by Don Lin has been recognized as a grand example of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. The House of Hygge Residential received the Iron A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2021. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design competition that rewards outstanding design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
