Dabpa-Shatin
Dabpa-Shatin is a restaurant interior located on the ground floor of a shopping mall in Hong Kong. The plan follows a cell-like shape with 360 degree circulation, so staff can reach every table from the kitchen with ease. The dining area measures 2233 square feet. Each banquette seat is placed beside a large window scene with a potted landscape, which gives diners privacy and a personal view. Moss plates are inlaid across the surfaces. The design links indoor and outdoor space and reads as a garden rather than a shop.
Dabpa-Shatin restaurant by Minus Workshop has been featured as a creative representation of architectural design by the A' Design Award. Dabpa-Shatin restaurant was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2021. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design competition which celebrates exceptional design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
