Sooyou
Sooyou is a beauty salon in Harbin, China, designed mainly for female customers. The interior draws on the constant fission of cells in the human body, which is translated into spatial structures through geometric shapes and simple lines. Straight lines and curves are combined to outline large geometric blocks, and the fission of these structures creates varied experiences along the circulation routes while also providing privacy. Dark gray and black tones are enlivened by a red hue. The 450 square meter space uses cement paint, felt, wall finishes and stone panels.
Sooyou Beauty Salon by Peihe Xie was selected as an outstanding representation of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. Sooyou Beauty Salon earned the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2021. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is a highly prestigious, international, juried design competition which celebrates exceptional design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
