Discussion of Space
Discussion of Space is a tea shop interior located in Shenzhen, China. The design starts from the most basic form and uses pure white blocks to create a suspended tea space. The blocks are combined horizontally and vertically at different angles, following a modular system based on multiples of fifteen. Gray terrazzo covers the floor and walls and sets off the white shapes. Durable furniture paint, white artificial stone counters and environmentally friendly ceiling paint are used. The modular system can be repeated in stores of different sizes.
Discussion of Space Tea Shop by Und Design Studio has been identified as an exceptional example of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. Discussion of Space Tea Shop was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2020. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design accolade that recognizes excellent design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
