Retro song of New York

Retro Song of New York is a residential interior design for a home shaped by memories of New York. The layout was reorganized by removing interior partition walls, which resolved a fragmented plan and an enclosed kitchen. A warm vintage industrial style and a modern grand style are combined through a shared grey base. Leather, wood, iron and metal add visual variety. The living room and dining room have no ceiling, and dark grey paint extends the perceived height. A kitchen island faces the dining room to support family interaction.

CHI Design

CHI Office is a workspace created inside an old house in HsinZhu, Taiwan. The original building had uneven ceilings and floors and disorderly compartments. Solid walls were removed and the interior areas were divided again. Windows on four sides bring daylight into the space. Iron cabinets and a wide metal display shelf separate the office from the reception area without solid walls. The floor is paved with gray artesian cement. Stone, metal and titanium plated details are combined with wood and planting to create a calm and open working atmosphere.

RICCA

RICCA is a bar interior in Kagurazaka, Tokyo, a district that keeps a traditional Japanese atmosphere. The design expresses Hanami, the Japanese custom of cherry blossom viewing that lasts only a few weeks in early spring. The ceilings of both spaces are covered with flower shaped objects made of resin with hologram sheets, cut by laser and bent by hand. Light placed inside and outside is reflected in changing colors, so the objects appear as fluttering petals. A half transparent red film is added in the lounge area, while the private karaoke room reflects light naturally.

The structure is screwed and modular, based on the sizes of the glass panels and the steel profiles, so waste is avoided and the house can be moved or modified. Certified wood, stone and textured surfaces are used inside to bring warmth to the glass shell.
