Realm of Mind

Realm of the Mind is a residential clubhouse interior design arranged over six floors in Taiwan. The layout separates the public reception areas from the private living spaces. Thick stone and wood create a calm Japanese style, supported by a Karesansui garden and faux stone art installations. Floor-to-ceiling glass windows, louvered windows and screen doors frame views of the mountains and clouds. A suspended staircase with linear lighting gives a light and floating feeling. A subdued gray palette unites the ceilings and floors. The space serves dining, lounging, tea and conversation.

Austin Land

Austin Land is an indoor children's playground on the fifth floor of a department store in Taiwan. The 892.5 square meter space uses an open plan, so children can move freely between areas such as a shell sand pool, an art painting wall, a reading house, an engineering house and a large ball pool. A dream train connects the separate zones. Large surfaces in white and natural oak keep children clearly visible, which supports safety. The materials are stain resistant, and chamfered corners reduce the risk of injury.

Corridor

Corridor is a restaurant and bar located in Luodong, Taiwan. The interior occupies the first floor of a renovated old house and covers 165.2 square meters. The long and narrow plan is divided into two areas. The front space is a dark bar for drinks and conversation. The back space is a bright glasshouse for meals and gatherings, converted from a former backyard. Translucent fiberglass panels and an insulated tin roof control light and heat. The dark wall is used to display artwork, so the restaurant also works as a small gallery.

Traditional brickwork and bamboo weaving are made by local craftsmen and combined with stone, wood and fabric. The total floor area is 1710 square meters.

Warm Place

Warm Place is a residential interior design for an apartment shared by a family with a young child. The interior area is 99.1 square meters and includes three bedrooms, a living room and a dining room. Rounded corners are applied at every turn, including the columns, so the child can move freely without injury. Most materials are natural and non-toxic, such as wood veneer with eco-friendly paint and antibacterial recycled laminate. A marble wall at the entrance blocks the view of the kitchen. A grille above the television wall adds detail to the ceiling.
